A Step Ahead Pediatric Therapy is a pediatric clinic based in Bourbonnais , IL. We offer physical therapy services on an individual basis in an environment that is child and family friendly and encourages positive, purposeful play and exercise. We offer services to infants, children and young adults.
Our goal is to optimize each individuals function based on their needs; to provide tools to maximize a person’s motor development; to empower parents and caregivers to understand and encourage development to help them reach their full potential.
We have experience in the treatment of a variety of neuro-motor, orthopedic, genetic, developmental and sensory based diagnoses. We offer evaluation, treatment, equipment evaluations for positioning and mobility and serial casting. We value clinical education and are NDT certified.

What to bring to first appointment:
Please make sure to bring the following documents for your therapy appointment:
- Therapy order from your doctor
- Any important documentation such as x-rays, after visit summaries, prior evaluations, and IEPs
- Insurance card(s) (We accept most insurances and also offer private pay. Please contact your insurance company to verify that we are in network)
- New Patient Form (See below)
